The cypress wood came from the St. John’s River Basin in Central Florida. Estimated to have been submerged in the river for over 170 years, this wood was recovered by Chapman River Logging, as seen on the TV program Axmen.
Mr. Chapman’s company donated a large cypress log to a wood collectors society and the craftsman was fortunate to purchase a couple of slabs.
The total age of the cypress is estimated at 400-500 years old. The legs are crafted from Ohio Sassafrass.
Handmade by local craftsman, John Roper in Franklin, NC.
